Almost 82% of Armenian companies hit by pandemic
YEREVAN, May 31. /ARKA/. Almost 82% of Armenian companies have suffered from the coronavirus crisis , co-owner and director of imr Petros Petoyan said on Monday, presenting the findings of a national business survey conducted to find out the priorities of the business community.
He said according to the survey, 46% of the respondents, including representatives of microbusiness and relatively small and medium-sized companies, assessed the impact of the pandemic as extremely negative.
Only 3% of respondents noted that the impact of the coronavirus was positive, and for 1% said it was extremely positive.
The major problem indicated by the respondents is the currency exchange rate fluctuations, while the positive one is the government assistance provided to help companies offset the consequences of the pandemic.
Petoyan said that about 60% of the companies surveyed benefited from the government assistance programs, while 38% of the respondents indicated their low efficiency, and 18% said they were extremely unproductive.
For his part, the operations director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Amiryan noted that some priorities have changed in the current economic and domestic political situation.
"For example, if earlier inflation did not really bother business entities, now it has come to the forefront and the second thing that worries the business community is the political instability,' Amiryan said.
The national business survey on the priorities of the business community was commissioned by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Armenia and was conducted in February-March 2021 embracing 400 entrepreneurs both in Yerevan and the regions of the country. –0--
