YEREVAN, October 4. /ARKA/. Argentinean businessman of Armenian origin Eduardo Eurnekian denied buying Armenia’s Armavia national air carrier rumor Thursday, Novosti-Armenia reports.
According to information disseminated earlier by some Armenian media outlets, Eduardo Eurnekian is probably interested in purchasing the air company, as Armavia’s administration was negotiating with some Italian entrepreneurs, and Eurnekian obtained Italia’s Volar air company.
Public Relations Department of Armavia refused from commenting on these speculations.
“ I absolutely have no such intention,” Eurnekian told journalists today.
Argentinean businessman Eduardo Eurnekian is the owner of the company “Corporation America” implementing concession management of Yerevan airport “Zvartnots”. He implements large projects in Armenia in agriculture sector. He also possesses Armenian “Conversebank”.
Earlier, spokeswoman for Armavia Nana Avetisova said several companies and individuals are interested in purchasing Armavia, and the talks are being currently held.
Armavia was founded in 1996 and meets IATA criteria . Today it operates over 100 flights a week to over 40 destinations in 20 countries.-0-
