Armenia does not overlook other than EEU markets
YEREVAN, September 13. /ARKA/. Despite being a member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), Armenia cooperates actively with other countries as well, Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan said during a parliament Q&A session today. He said when summing up the results of the year, the government will prepare a large-scale report, which will include the studies on the markets.
According to him, the growth rate of Armenian exports to European countries exceed those of other EEU member countries. According to official data, Armenia's exports to EU countries in January-July 2017 amounted to $355.1 million (an increase of 31.9%).
Asked by a parliament member from the opposition Yelk bloc what is the reason that top Armenian government officials make actually no visits to Western countries and do not attract investors from there, the prime minister stressed that visits will be made as soon as the corresponding agenda appears.
"We have active relationship with many countries, but does it mean that we should pay visits to those countries? I do not think so," the prime minister said. -0-
