Armenia’s State Food Safety service bans operation of Grig El Met Company

YEREVAN, March 5. / ARKA /. Armenia’s State Food Safety Service has banned the operation of Grig El Met Company which is known in the market under Getamej brand. The decision comes after an extensive examination of the company. The agency has decided also to recall the company’s produces from stores.

The examination revealed that the labeling of finished goods was made carelessly, the sanitary condition of the manufacturing workshop was poor, employees did not have special  uniforms, trucks transporting the produces were  dirty, industrial areas were  not provided with necessary ventilation equipment, while the storage and freezing facilities were  not provided with equipment to monitor temperature conditions.

Besides,  47 employees working in the slaughter workshop did undergo regular medical checks. A laboratory study found also salmonella gems in frozen chickens. The State Food safety Service decided also to inform the public at large about its decision to ban the operation of the company.  -0-
