YEREVAN, June 9. / ARKA /. Armenia will showcase its fruits and vegetables at Milan EXPO 2015, an extraordinary visitor-oriented event that will run for six months - from May to October 31 2015.
It is expected to draw together 144 nations, international organizations, civil society and corporations to showcase their current activities and proposals for the future, themed around food and nutrition. The Armenian participation will be coordinated by the Armenian Development Agency (ADA).
ADA head, Robert Harutyunyan said the theme of the Milan's EXPO 2015 is Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life, more precisely how to feed the planet's growing population in ways that are sustainable and healthy and at the same time respectful of cultures, bringing them added value.
He said Milan EXPO 2015 is also a unique opportunity for companies to showcase leadership, innovation, and solutions in their fields on an international scale and attract the attention of institutions, governments, and consumers from around the world.
Harutyunyan said the Armenian economy minister will chair a task force to be set up soon to help prepare for the event. He said in addition to a separate pavilion, located on 125 square meters, Armenian agricultural products will o be sold at a nearby marketplace.
The Armenian Development Agency (ADA) was established in 1998 by the government to attract investment in Armenia and expand its exports. It cooperates with many international organizations. -0-
