Attempt to import Belarusian yoghurts with expired shelf life foiled at Armenia’s checkpoint

YEREVAN, June 24. /ARKA/. Armenia’s state food safety agency has foiled an attempt to import Belarusian yoghurts with expired shelf life, the agency reports on its website.

Some 864 boxes of 12 varieties of yoghurt produced by Belarusia’s Savushkin Product company have been barred from entering the country.

“Their shelf life expired while they were trapped by landslide on Upper Lars checkpoint on the Russian-Georgian border from May 17,” the press release says.

Savushkin Product is one of the largest producers of dairy and juices in Belarus. The company exports its products to Kazakhstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Moldova and other countries. -0--
