Armenia’s Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) on Wednesday approved the sale of GNC Alfa company, a subsidiary of Russian Rostelecom.

YEREVAN, Jan. 19. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) on Wednesday approved the sale of GNC Alfa company, a subsidiary of Russian Rostelecom. The news was confirmed by a PSRC official Armen Hunanyan.

The buyers are the Electrical Networks of Armenia CJSC (belongs to Tashir Holding, which is owned by a Russia-based billionaire of Armenian origin Samvel Karapetyan) and a Russian citizen Arman Hunanyan, who have set up a new company Molitro Holdings Limited to manage 100% of shares of GNC Alfa, which is registered in a Cyprus offshore.

The estimated cost of the deal is $25 million. The buyers have undertaken to invest 2.5 billion drams in the development of infrastructure over the next five year.

Earlier, in 2020, a world's leading provider of communications and Internet services VEON Ltd. sold its Armenian subsidiary.

Since September 2013, GNC Alfa together with HYBRID SOLUTIONS Company has been providing the IP TV service of the new generation. In September 2015, the company introduced a brand new Smart TV, which stands out with its innovative solutions and features.

The company's network is entirely built on fiber-optic communication lines using advanced technologies, and stretches throughout the territory of Armenia for more than 3000 km. Rostelecom's network is connected to the main regional backbone networks and to the international traffic transmission nodes from Iran and Georgia.

In Yerevan, Rostelecom has built a ring structure network with 40GB/s throughput, making possible provision subscribers with high-speed and uninterrupted access to the Internet.

The corporate clients of the company are the largest corporations, the Government of Armenia, state institutions, international organizations, commercial banks and operators.

The application of state-of-the-art technologies enables the company to fully satisfy the needs of the subscribers, spreading and ensuring the availability of services throughout the territory of the Republic of Armenia.

Since 2014, the company has been providing services to the population in the center of Yerevan, in Erebuni, Nubarashen, Ajapnyak, Davitashen, Malatia-Sebastia, Nor Nork  and Avan, Arabkir, Shengavit administrative districts: also in the towns of Abovyan, Charentsavan, Hrazdan, Vanadzor, Gyumri, Armavir, Masis, Artashat, Ararat,  Dilijan, Ijevan, Kapan, Martuni, Alaverdi and Kajaran.
