No obstacles to open French shopping center in Armenia- Press Digest
YEREVAN, December 26. /ARKA/. The director general of Armenian affiliate of Carrefour French hypermarket network Vache Arsen denied rumours that the company will not open its affiliate in Armenia because of the pressure by the authorities, according to the article published in Zhoghovurd (Peoples) newspaper.
“We are already here, in Armenia,” the director general said. He assured the shopping centre will operate in Armenia, but it is still unknown when it will be opened.
The article states the centre has already announced vacancies.
Earlier some local media sources referring to Haykakan Zhamanak (Armenian Time) newspaper reported Carrefour opening can raise a number of troubles for the Armenian oligarchs.
Carrefour network includes over 15,000 stores. The net profit of the group hit over 82 billion euros in 2007. -0-
