Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 13.5% in Armenia
YEREVAN, August 3. /ARKA/. Prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages rose 13.5% in Armenia in July 2022 when compared to July 2021, according to the numbers, released today by the National Statistical Committee (NSC).
Flour prices rose by 18% from July 2021, bread, and pasta rose by 21.2% and 31.1% respectively, while rice, buckwheat and lentils rose in prices by 12.7% and 28.6% and 31.8%, respectively.
Pork and beef in July 2022 compared to June 2021 rose in price by 7.1% and 20% respectively. Fish and seafood prices increased by 8.3%. Cheese prices in July 2022 were up 26.2% from July 2021, while egg prices dropped by 20.1%. Butter prices rose by 2.5% , while sunflower oil price rose by 0.4%.
Fruits in July 2022 rose by 21.7% over the year, while vegetables decreased in price by 0.9%. Sugar went up by 7.5%. Coffee, tea and cocoa prices rose by 12%.
Prices for mineral and bottled drinking water rose by 8.6%. Vodka rose by 10%, wine - by 1.8%, beer - by 9% and tobacco products - by 9.1%.
According to statistical data, prices for non-food products in July 2022 rose by 8.2% from July 2021.
The 12-month inflation in Armenia in July 2022 was 9.3%. -0-
