SCR helps establish training ground for Gyumr techncial college

The Russian-run South Caucasus Railways (SCR) company, operating Armenia’s railroads, said it had helped establish a training ground for Gyumri State Technical College in Armenia’s second largest town.
YEREVAN, July 25. /ARKA/. The Russian-run South Caucasus Railways (SCR) company, operating Armenia’s railroads, said it had helped establish a training ground for Gyumri State Technical College in Armenia’s second largest town. The company helped lay 10 meter-long railways and install equipment and parts necessary for the organization of educational process.
"We have helped establish the training ground to approximate, as much as possible, learning opportunities to the real working conditions. The equipment is functioning and is connected to the control system and power," SCR CEO, Viktor Rebets, was quoted as saying in a press release.
On his side, education and science minister Armen Ashotyan was quoted as saying that cooperation with the SCR has a special nature, as the company invests in education, promoting the creation of professional personnel for the SCR. According to the minister, it is essential that all Armenian businessmen understand the importance of making investment in the training of qualified personnel.
South Caucasus Railways, a 100-percent subsidiary of Russian Railways, runs Armenian Railway.
Armenian Railways was handed over to the South Caucasus Railways on February 13, 2008 for 30-year concession management with a right to prolong the management term for other 10 years. -0-
