GAVAR, July 14. /ARKA/. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan attended Saturday the reopening of Sevan Water mineral water plant, ARKA News Agency correspondent reports.

Misak Balasanyan, the founder of the company, said about AMD 1.9 billion has been invested in the plant since 2010 and AMD 300 million is planned to be invested in 2016 in production of plastic bottles. 

He said that the plant will initially produce 5 million bottles a year, but in the future its annual output will be increased to 25 million bottles. 

The administration of the plant intends to sell the mineral water not only in Armenia, but also to send it abroad. 

Some 20,000 bottles are planned to be exported to Russia and Georgia this month. 

Fishponds will be opened on the total area of 1,200 square meters in the plant's territory for breeding trout and sturgeons. 

Now 80 people work at the plant, but the later this number will be increased to 180. 

The plant once called Sevan was established in 1953. It produced some 150,000 bottles of mineral water every year. In the 1970s the plant already produced 5 million bottles a year. The plant was closed in 1992 and bought by the Balasanyan family in 2010.

The father of the family is the mayor of Gyumri, administrative center of Shirak province. He is also the owner of the Gyumri Brewery. ($1 – AMD 476.35). ---0-----
