YEREVAN, April 29. / ARKA /. Six of the seven Armenia-based insurance companies were among the 1000 largest corporate taxpayers in the first quarter of 2014, the State Revenue Committee (SRC) said.
It said these companies paid a total of 632.7 million drams in various taxes, down from 645.5 million drams they had paid in the first three months of 2013.
According to the SRC, 96.8 % or 612.3 million drams of that amount were paid as direct taxes. In general, insurance companies accounted for 0.4 % of the total taxes paid during the period by the 1000 largest taxpayers in the first quarter.
The three largest taxpayers were Rosgosstrakh Armenia (more than 173 million drams), Reso (145.8 million drams) and Ingo -Armenia (123.8 million drams. They were followed by Nairi Insurance (84.6 million drams), Sil Insurance (53.3 million drams) and Armenia Insurance (52.1 million drams).
Overall, the 1000 largest taxpayers in the first quarter of 2014 paid over 154.3 billion drams in taxes against 146.3 billion drams paid in January-March 2013. ($ 1 - 412.80 drams). -0-
