YEREVAN, June 10. /ARKA/. South Caucasus Railway CJSC intends to invest $572 million in Armenia’s economy under its 30-year investment program launched in 2008, Karen Antonyan, chief of the company’s management division, said Tuesday in Yerevan at the third session of the Armenian-Latvian Business Cooperation Council.
He said more than a half of the mentioned amount had already been invested since then.
“In its investment policy, the company pays attention also to Armenian economy’s related sectors that serve the railway,” Antonyan said. In his words, AMD 2 billion has already invested in these sectors.
South Caucasus Railway, a subsidiary of Russian Railways, runs Armenian Railway, which was handed over to the South Caucasus Railway on February 13, 2008 for 30-year concession management with a right to prolong the management term for other 10 years. ($1- AMD 412.86). -0----
