South Caucasus Railways channels 10 million drams in August and September into assistance to staff members

YEREVAN, October 3, /ARKA/. The South Caucasus Railways (SCR), a Russian-owned company operating Armenia’s railroads, said today in line with its social policy it had released 10 million drams in August and September in various benefits to its staff members.

The company specified in a press release that it had allocated 4.5 million drams as assistance to 28 personnel members who had new born babies. It also paid 1.2 million drams to staff members, who needed money for medical treatment, for funeral of a staff member of relatives. It also released 4.2 million drams to those who were going to marry and top those who sent their children to school for the first time.

The SCR intends to proceed with its socially-oriented policy, which places additional social responsibility on it in terms of showing support to staff members in improvement of their living and working conditions and receiving medical assistance. It also supports young personnel members. Currently the company is developing a modern and comprehensive incentive program for the staff.

South Caucasus Railways is a 100% subsidiary of state-run Russian Railways that was awarded a concesional management of SCR. The 30 year contract was signed in 2008. It can be prolonged for another 10 years.-0-
