Yerevan Brandy Company sales up 33 percent

YEREVAN, September 7. /ARKA/. The French-owned Yerevan Brandy Company’s (YBC) sales in 2011/2012 fiscal year increased by 33% to 3.4 million liters, YBC chief executive director, Ara Grigoryan, said today.

"The fiscal year was quite successful for us. The company managed to increase exports by 30%, double the profit, and increase sales of Ararat brandies in duty free zones in the CIS", he said.

According to him, domestic sales amounted to 1.5 billion drams from 1.06 billion in 2010/2011 fiscal year, and the net profit rose from 2.4 billion drams to 5.01 billion drams.

Grigoryan said the dynamics of sales in the first two months of the new fiscal year (July-August) (from 240,000 liters to 638,000 liters) suggests the upward sales trend will keep on.

YBC was founded in 1887. In June 1998 it was acquired by French Pernod Ricard at $30 million. ($1 - 411.82 drams). -0-
