2017-2022 activity program upheld by Armenian government

YEREVAN, June 19. /ARKA/. At their extraordinary session held Thursday, Armenia’s Cabinet ministers upheld the government’s activity program for a period between 2017 and 2022.

Vache Gabrielyan, vice-premier and minister of international economic integration and reforms, presenting the program to the Cabinet, said the program implies comprehensive reforms which will ensure a stable development to the country.

The government’s press office says the program is based on the Armenian president’s address, the election program of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation/Dashnaktsutiun and the progressive ideas being discussed by the society.

Gabrielyan said that the government’s program is aimed at building a safe, just, free and smart Armenia.

In his words, the problems identified by the government and their solutions are pointed out in each section of the program.

The foreign policy’s priorities are clearly specified in the program.

The program consists of four sections – the state administration system, the foreign policy and defense, economic progress and social segment.

”I think the program put quite ambitious goals to the government,” Karen Karapetyan, the prime minister, said on his side. “We placed it on record what are our goals in the economy – unemployment, the minimum salary, exports and taxes-GDP ratio are among our focuses.”

The program will be sent to the National Assembly for approval. --0----
