YEREVAN, December 13. /ARKA/. Processing companies purchased 224,000 tons of fruits and vegetables in Armenia this year, Deputy Agriculture Minister Robert Makaryan said Friday at a news conference.
“Some 28,000 tons of vegetables, 29,000 tons of fruits and 167,000 tons of grapes were sold to processing companies,” he said.
In 2012, 215,000 tons of fresh fruits and vegetables were bought by companies.
An average price for grapes was 146.2 drams per one kilogram in 2013 against 142.1 drams in 2012.
The deputy minister said this year’s purchase process was running without big problems – companies paid their debts almost completely.
