YEREVAN, April 1. / ARKA /. About 35-40 percent of Armenia’s economy is in shadow, according to a recent report by human rights defender Karen Andreasyan on the problems in the tax and customs areas.
According to him, the State Revenue Committee examined 225 cases related to shadow economy, but criminal cases were started only into 25 cases.
The report says the share of shadow economy did not change for years, accounting approximately for 35-40 % of the total economic activity. -0-
