YEREVAN, December 17. /ARKA/. Armenia's fruit crop was 336,800 tons this year against 331,700 tons in 2012, Deputy Agriculture Minister Samvel Galstyan said Tuesday at a news conference.
“This growth was mainly due to growth in apricot crops, which totaled 86,400 tons,” he said.
According to the agriculture ministry, this year's apricot crop was larger than that of 2012 by 12,000 tons.
Galstyan also said that crops of all types of fruits but peaches were larger in 2013 than in 2012.
“In 2012, the country had peach crop of 63,000 tons, while this year only 60,700 tons were harvested,” he said. -0----
