"Armavia to resume SSJ 100 operation soon
YEREVAN, October 2. /ARKA/. Sukhoi Civil Aircraft CJSC and Armavia Armenian national air carrier agreed on SSJ 100 airplane exploitation which will be resumed very soon, RIA Novosti reports referring to Sukhoi Civil Aircraft.
Armavia, together with Aeroflot, is a principal customer of SSJ 100 airplane. In June the company refused to get the second SuperJet revealing no reasons for that. Sukhoi Civil Aircraft CJSC explained the reason was Armavia’s financial difficulties. Later the Armenian air company announced on refusing from the operating SSJ too as within a year an airplane had to be repaired.
Sukhoi Civil Aircraft, on its side, said it was a planned technical maintenance.
“The sides signed a rent agreement which will be effective after implementing customs demands and exemption of financial burden… Very soon Armavia will resume exploiting SSJ,” Sukhoi Civil Aircraft said Tuesday.
Armavia was founded in 1996 and meets IATA criteria . Today it operates over 100 flights a week to over 40 destinations in 20 countries.-0-
