Armenia ended the year 2017 with 7.5% - the highest economic growth since 2007, when 13.7 percent was recorded, the National Statistical Service reports.

YEREVAN, February 28. /ARKA/. Armenia ended the year 2017 with 7.5% - the highest economic growth since 2007, when 13.7 percent was recorded, the National Statistical Service reports. 

Remarkable is that Armenia has managed not only reach the projected GDP growth, but also exceed it for the first time in the last five years. In the government budget for 2017, economic growth was projected at 3.2%. 

The high economic growth was ensured by industry (12.6% growth), trade (14% growth), services (14.4% growth) and construction (2.2% growth). Only agriculture faced a 3% decline in 2017.

The country’s GDP amounted to AMD 5 580.1 billion or around $11.5 billion in 2017 (the US dollar traded at 482.72 drams in Armenia in 2017).

According to the statistical report, GDP grew 7.1% in the first quarter 2017, 6.6% in the second quarter, 4.6% in the third quarter and 11.2% in the fourth quarter. 

Per-capita GDP amounted to AMD 1 872 837 ($3 880) in 2017 against AMD 1 693 523 ($3 525) in 2016. --0--
