YEREVAN, April 8. /ARKA/. The new government should include a minister of industry and foreign trade, head of Armenia’s Union of Local Manufacturers Vazgen Safaryan said.
On April 3, Armenia’s premier Tigran Sargsyan resigned and his resignation was accepted by the president Serzh Sargsyan.
The Customs Union member countries have similar ministries, and Armenia is expected to sign the CU accession agreement in May, Safaryan said.
The ministry will help to effectively implement the country’s industrial strategy approved in 2011 and find other ways to industrial development, he said.
It is in Armenia’s economic interests to join the Customs Union as soon as possible, Safaryan said in responding ARKA’s question about the accession to the CU ahead. –0—
