Armenia records lowest 4-month inflation rate in last ten years

YEREVAN. May 5. / ARKA /. The 1.7 percent inflation in Armenia recorded in January-April this year was the lowest in the last ten years, according to Gurgen Martirosyan, head of a department at the National Statistical Service (NSS).

Speaking at a news conference he said the highest rate of inflation in the first four months was recorded in 2008 when it was 6%.

According to Martirosyan, low inflation rates were recorded also in 2007 and 2012, when  the figure was 2.1 %.

The government expects this year’s inflation to be within 4% (+ / -1.5%) . -0 -
