YEREVAN, October 28. / ARKA /. The 2014 draft state budget has earmarked about 34 billion drams for the police, deputy finance minister Pavel Safarian told today a parliament discussion on next year’s budget.
According to him, this amount is 11 % higher than this year’s budget of the agency. He added that another 20 billion drams of off-budget resources are supposed to be released for the police next year.
He explained that the additional amount has generated largely from fines for breaches of traffic rules.
Safarian also said that 26 billion drams will be paid as wages to police officers, which is 3.9 billion more than in 2013.
The Armenian government plans to collect 1.134 trillion drams in 2014 in revenue. The draft budget calls also for 1.244 trillion drams in government spending. The projected deficit is 110 billion drams. -0-
