YEREVAN, December 17. / ARKA /. Armenia’s international airport Zvartnots handled 1,538,391 in the first 11 months of 2013, by one percent less from the year before, according to a statement on the official website of the Main Department of Civil Aviation of Armenia.
In November the passenger flow grew by almost 10 percent from October, it said.
It said also some 769,566 people left the country by air, down from 791,648 in the first 11 months in 2012, while the number of people arriving in the country grew to 768, 825 from 763,334 in 2012.
Some 3,787 metric tons of goods were brought to Armenia by air, a 24.5% year-on-year drop, and 5,412 tons were taken out, a 6.3% decline.
The total number of arrivals and departures handled by the airport in 11 months dropped to 7,882 from 9,595 in the first 11 months of 2012.
Zvartnots airport is run by Armenia-International Airports, a company owned by an Argentine citizen of Armenian descent Eduardo Eurnekian. In 2001 the company signed a concesional agreement with the government to manage Zvartnots for 30 years. -0-
