YEREVAN, August 29. /ARKA/. Armenia’s apricot exports this year were as large as never before – 29 companies and 514 individuals took 23,240 tons of apricots this year out of the country, the press office of the agriculture ministry reports.
According to the report, the country exported 84% more apricots this summer than in 2012.
Some 19,810 tons were sent to Russia, 2,593 tons to Georgia and 668 tons to Ukraine. Small batches were exported also to other countries.
The press office said that sales to canneries are already completed. This year 28 canneries purchased 13,044 tons of apricots against 8,855 in the previous year (47% growth). ---0---
