Armenia’s car imports exceed $69.9mln in Q1
YEREVAN, May 13. /ARKA/. Passenger car imports to Armenia rose by 35% to $69.9 million in the first quarter of this year compared to Q1 2013.
The website of the Armenian customs service reports the country imported 11,310 passenger vehicles in January-March, as compared to 7,710 in the same period of the year before.
In general, a total of 11,780 vehicles were imported in the reporting period compared to 8,296 in the first quarter of 2013. Of it, 7,416 were vehicles costing up to $5,000; some 2,728 imported vehicles cost from $5,000 to $10,000, 661 – from $10,000 to $15,000, 651 vehicles – from $15,000 to $30,000 and 324 vehicles cost over $30,000 each.
Aggregate import taxes on cars amounted to 12.1 billion drams, an increase of 41% compared to January-March 2013.
In the reporting quarter, a total of 198 Russian-made cars were imported to Armenia (21.4% reduction); import taxes on these cars totaled 527 million drams (a triple increase). –0—
