Armenia’s chemical industry drops 8.7% to 7.5bln drams in 2012
YEREVAN, February 13. /ARKA/. Chemical production dropped by 8.7% to 7.5bln drams in Armenia in 2012, the country’s National Statistical Service reported.
Manufacturing of plastic products grew to 13,707.2 tons in 2012, which is a 0.4% increase against the year before.
Paint and varnish production output reduced by 7.6% to 10,848.4 tons. Production of detergents, cleansers and starching products dropped by 10.8% to a total of 1,887.2 tons in 2012 against 2011.
In 2012, a total of 9,577 kilograms of synthetic corundum was produced (21% decline compared to 2011). Production of caustic soda was 82tons (2.1-time decline). No synthetic rubber was produced in the reporting period. ($1=406.49drams). –0--
