YEREVAN, June 3. / ARKA /. Armenia’s Commerce and Industry Chamber and the Chamber of Commerce of Abu Dhabi have signed today a cooperation agreement in Yerevan.
The agreement was signed by Martin Sarkisian, head of Armenia’s Commerce and Industry Chamber and Mohammad Fani Morrshed Romayti, head of the Commerce Chamber of Abu Dhabi.
After the signing ceremony Martin Sarkisian said Armenia’s upcoming accession to the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan increases the importance of developing bilateral business relationships with the United Arab Emirates, one of the fastest growing countries in the world.
According to him, after Armenia becomes a full member of the Customs Union, all the products made in Armenia, will face no obstacles in entering the Customs Union’s markets and Armenia and the UAE should take advantage of this opportunity.
Sarkisian said the two countries could cooperate very successfully in agriculture, tourism, information technology and mining sectors.
The trade turnover between Armenia and the United Arab Emirates in 2013 amounted to $77.7 million. Armenian exports totaled $9.4 million. -0-
