Armenia’s construction sector grew by 1.2 percent to 18.6 billion drams, NSS

YEREVAN, April 4. / ARKA /. In the first two months of 2014 Armenia’s construction sector grew by 1.2 percent from the year earlier to 18.6 billion drams, the National Statistical Service (NSS) said.

Individual construction accounted for 5.15 billion drams or 27.7% of the total construction, NSS said. It was up 5.6% from the first two months of 2013.

Corporate-financed construction amounted to 10.6 billion drams or 57.1% of the total construction (up 6.9%).  Another 115.9 million drams worth construction was financed by humanitarian assistance. It was 77 percent down from the year earlier making 0.6 % of the total constriction.  

Government-financed construction made 2.1 billion drams or 11.5% of the total construction (up 25.7%). Another 11.4 million drams worth construction or 0.1 % of the total (a decline 84.2 %) was financed by communities.

Also 163.4 million drams worth construction was financed by World Bank loan, 169.7 million drams  worth construction by EBRD loan, 16.3 million drams worth construction by the  Asian Development Bank loan and 2.8 million drams worth construction by  the German Development Bank (KfW).
