YEREVAN, October 31. / ARKA /. Armenia’s economic activity this past September advanced 4.4% when compared to 2011 September, the National Statistical Service (ArMStat) said, adding also that the indicator in Jan.-September this year grew by 7.6 percent year-on-year.
According to ArmStat numbers, the construction sector this past September saw a 5 percent year-on-year growth. The volume of construction work in September this year amounted to 56.7 billion drams, a 43.4 percent increase compared with August.
The industrial output in September 2012 amounted to more than 94.3 billion drams, an increase of 0.3 percent compared to September 2011, and dropped by 0.2% compared to the previous month of this year.
According to the National Statistical Service, in the reporting period the agriculture increased by 9.8 percent as compared to September 2011, to 178.1 billion drams. The foreign trade turnover recorded a decline of 17.9% from a year before to 177.1 billion drams ($433.3 million).
Also the volume of services provided in 2012 September increased by 9% compared to the same period in 2011, reaching more than 85.6 billion drams. ($ 1-405,57 drams). -0-
