YEREVAN, April 22. / ARKA /. Armenia’s economic activity index in January-March 2014 increased by 3.3 % from the same period in 2013, according to the National Statistical Service (NSS). It said consumer prices in January- March 2014 grew by 4.6 percent from the year before, while manufacturers’ prices hiked by 5.5%.
The industrial output in the first two months of 2014 was said to have declined by 2.8 percent to 274.3 billion drams.
The agricultural GDP amounted to 68.5 billion drams (up 5.2%), the construction sector is said to have seen a modest growth of 0.7 percentage point to 39.8 billion drams, the domestic trade turnover increased by 4.5 percent to 449.8 billion drams and the services grew by 3.5 percent to 234.8 billion drams.
The foreign trade turnover in January- March amounted to approximately $1.322.5 billion, an increase of 0.6 percent compared with the same period in 2013.
The government’s projection of GDP growth for this year is 5.2%. ($ 1 - 414.06 drams). -0-
