YEREVAN, July 21. / ARKA /. Armenia's economic activity index in the first six months of 2014 grew by 3.4% if compared to the same period in 2013, the National Statistical Service (NSS) said today.
According to the NSS, consumer prices in January-June 2014 grew by 4 percent from the year earlier, while industrial producer price index increased by 8.7%.
The NSS said 579.3 billion drams worth industrial goods were produced in the first half this year, almost as much as in the first six months of 2013.
The agricultural output is said to have grown by 4.1 percent to 219.4 billion drams, construction saw a growth of 0.4 percent to 125.9 billion drams, domestic trade turnover rose by 5.6 percent to 1.010.75 billion drams, while services grew by 4 percent to 500.2 billion drams.
Armenia’s foreign trade turnover in January-June 2014 amounted to approximately $2.723 billion, an increase of 1 percent compared with the same period in 2013.
The government’s projection of inflation for this year is 4% (± 1.5%). It also expects the GDP to grow by 5.2%. ($ 1 - 406.62 drams). -0 –
