Armenia’s foreign trade in Jan.-Sept. grows by 2.4 percent to $4.041.6 billion
YEREVAN, October 22, /ARKA/. Armenia’s foreign trade in the first nine months of 2012 saw a 2.4 percent rise from a year earlier to $4.041.6 billion or 1.617.7 trillion drams, the National Statistical Service (ArmStat) told ARKA. According to its preliminary data, in September the foreign trade slashed by 7.8 percent when compared with August.
ArmStat said Armenian exports grew by 6 percent from the same time span of 2011 to $1.032 billion (413.2 billion drams), while imports upped by 1.2 percent to $3.009.6 billion drams or 1.204.5 trillion drams. The resulting negative trade gap amounted to $1.977.6 billion (791.3 billion drams). In September the exports dropped by 7.4 percent and the imports by 7.9 percent, ArmStat said.
