YEREVAN, August 20. /ARKA/. The preliminary projection is Armenia may increase its fruit and vegetable exports by some 80-90 million dollars in 2015-2016, the head of the Union of Local Manufacturers Vazgen Safaryan said.
Last year Armenia exported a total of 60,000-62,000 tons of fruits and vegetables. This year it will be up to 64,000-65,000 tons, Safaryan told a press conference on Wednesday. The amount should reach 100,000-120,000 tons next year, which is an increase of 80-90 million dollars, according to the expert.
Safaryan also said Russia’s retaliatory sanctions against the US and EU relate to some 6.8-7 billion dollars, which open up additional export opportunities to Armenian producers. –0--
