Armenia’s jewelry output built up 15% in 2013 to 19.4 billion drams

EREVAN, February 4. /ARKA/. Armenia’s jewelry output grew 15% in 2013, compared with the previous year, and totaled 19.4 billion drams, the National Statistical Service reports. 

Some 982.7 kilograms of jewelry were produced in the country over 2013 against 847.8 kilograms in 2012 – 15.9% growth. 

Diamond industry accounted for 41.2% growth after releasing 94498 carats in 2013. Precious and semiprecious stones, precious metals and jewelry made of them of the total cost of $188 million were exported from Armenia in 2013 – 8.7% growth, and those worth $295.4 million were imported in the country – 64.9% growth.
