Armenia’s jewelry output shrinks 56.5% in January 2014 to AMD 596.2 million

YEREVAN, February 28. /ARKA/. Jewelry worth AMD 596 million produced in Armenia in January 2014 – 56.5% year-on-year growth, the National Statistical Service of Armenia reports.   

Some 54.2 kilograms of jewelry were produced in January 2014 against 29.6 kilograms in January 2013 – 83.1% growth.  Diamond output fell 37.6% to 4 815 carats.

Exports of precious and semiprecious stones, precious metals and products made of them amounted to about $11.3 million (1.9% year-on-year growth) and imports totaled $28.2 million (38.5% year-on-year growth). ($1- 412.93). -0----
