YEREVAN, December 20. /ARKA/. Armenia’s ministry of agriculture is projecting egg prices will drop by 6-7% by June 2014.
Surplus egg produce may occur late June leading to reduction in egg prices, head of zoology and veterinary department of the ministry Ashot Hovhannisyan said.
Hovhannisyan also said the ministry is not expecting egg deficit in the domestic market either ahead of New Year or throughout the next year.
Hovhannisyan said domestic egg demand is 900-900,000 pieces per day. Ahead of the New Year and Christmas, when the demand is growing, new laying hens are imported to avoid deficit and to provide the additional 100-150,000 eggs per day. –0--
