Armenia’s new premier promises equal conditions to businesses
YEREVAN, April 22. /ARKA/. Armenia’s premier Hovik Abrahamyan promised government support and equal business conditions to entrepreneurs.
“I am sure you have good ideas that will contribute to economic development and progress in our country. We will consider support to entrepreneurship a priority, and everyone should understand economy is the basis for the country’s progress. There will be no interference with business and no unfair obstacles”, Abrahamyan said at a meeting between the government agencies and Armenia’s Union of Employers Saturday.
The purpose of the meeting was discussion of the cabinet’s steps to improve business environment in the country.
The premier also said he will be consistent in this.
Every investor should know he is protected, he said.
The head of the State Revenues Committee Gagik Khachatryan said his agency had initiated legislative reforms to boost development of businesses, introduce alternate tax inspections and horizontal monitoring, reduce turnover tax for small and medium-sized enterprises, and etc.
Businessmen appreciated the proposed amendments and expressed their willingness to discuss details with the government.
The premier thanked the meeting participants and said he is ready to discuss any positive suggestion.
Hovik Abrahamyan was appointed premier on April 13 to replace Tigran Sargsyan who resigned on April 3. –0—
