YEREVAN, December 16. /ARKA/. Armenia’s president Serzh Sargsyan is expecting an in-depth and detailed analysis from the government in February-March after the National Statistical Service summarizes socioeconomic results for 2013.
The analysis will show the trends for the year and whether or not the 2013 targets were met ( if yes to what extent, if not what were the reasons), what impact had the external factors on the outcome and what foundation has been laid for future processes, the president said at a meeting in the ministry of economy Friday.
Such analyses are useful for everyone to understand the decisions and the approaches, the president said.
Sargsyan also stressed the importance of building analytical capacities and to set up a respective center at the ministry of economy.
According to ArmStat, Armenia’s GDP reached 1,283.5 billion in the third quarter of 2013, an increase of 1.4% compared to the same period of the year before. The 12-month inflation was 6.6%. Under the government budget, GDP is 6.2% and inflation 4% (±1.5%). The president instructed the government to ensure a 7% economy growth in 2013. –0--
