YEREVAN, March 11. /ARKA/. Trade turnover between Armenia and Serbia grew four times in 2013, compared with 2012, to $8.2 million, Armenian Economy Minister Vahram Avanesyan said Tuesday in Yerevan at the ceremony of the opening of the first Armenian-Serbian Business Forum organized by the Armenian Development Agency as part of Serbian Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic’s visit here.
Robert Harutyunyan, the head of the Armenian Development Agency, on his side, told journalists that this growth was ensured mainly by exporting ores and copper concentrate to Serbia.
“However, Armenia can export to Serbia also what it exports now to EU countries – foods, light industry’s products and some other goods,” he said.
Harutyunyan expressed hope that the first business forum will contribute to the growth of trade turnover between the two countries.
According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, the country’s exports to Serbia totaled $5.6 million in 2013, and Serbian imports to Armenia about $2.5 million. -0----
