YEREVAN, September 17. / ARKA /. Armenian farmers have collected an unprecedented wheat crop this year, agriculture minister Segto Karapetian told today the parliament. He said unlike last year when the yield from a hectare was 27.6 quintals, this year it rose to 32 quintals.
According to the ministry of agriculture’s outlook, the overall wheat crop is expected at 310,000 metric tons, a dramatic increase from 240,000 tons last year. The total grain output is expected to be around 530,000 metric tons, by 25 percent more than in 2012. -0-
