Armenian government to provide farmers with seeds at low price
YEREVAN, February 21. / ARKA /. The Armenian government has approved today a program designed to boost production of crop seeds and provide farmers will with high-quality seeds at low prices.
Part of the seed was imported, and the other part was bought from local producers. Overall, the farmers will be provided with 850 tons of spring barley, 11 tons of corn, 37 tons of clover and 530 tons of esparcet (holy clover) seeds.
Prime minister Tigran Sargsyan said the government has subsidized 40% of the market value of the seeds. He also emphasized cultivation of esparcet saying it is supposed to help solve the forage problem. -0-
