Armenian human rights defender criticizing ministry of economy 2013 activities
YEREVAN, April 2. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Human Rights Defender Karen Andreasyan has criticized the 2013 activities of the country’s ministry of economy in his report.
The ministry has not provided sufficient conditions for exporting companies, i.e. formal requirements were not reduced and access to foreign market was not improved, according to the report.
Apart from this, the ombudsman says, no sufficient information about the Armenian market and its achievements was provided to foreign investors.
Andreasyan says efforts were insufficient to ensure development in traditional economic fields, light industry, jewelry production in particular.
“The existing incomplete laws, along with disproportionately high taxes hinder development of small and medium-sized businesses”, the ombudsman said.
Andreasyan also noted no uniform state body is created to deal with protection of consumer rights and exercise efficient control. –0--
