Armenian lawmakers pass at first reading amendments to trade and services law

YEREVAN, May 14. /ARKA/. Armenian National Assembly passed at the first reading amendments to the trade and services law at its extraordinary session held Wednesday.

The amendments propose to widen the range of products subject to control stamping.

Some 100 MPs cast their votes in favor of the amendments, two lawmakers voted against it and 12 abstained.

Vakhtang Mirumyan, deputy head of the Armenian State Revenue Committee, said yesterday that the list will include foods and nonfoods. He said the listed goods, such as dairy products, canned vegetables and fruits, coffee, cosmetics etc, must have control stamps on them.

In his opinion, the new procedure will not hobble development of businesses.

Application of control stamps started in Armenia in July 2013. It is needed for supervising trade turnover..-0---
