Armenian parliament passes budget bill

YEREVAN, December 12 . /ARKA/. Armenian parliament passed the government budget for 2014 at its Thursday’s meeting.

Seventy deputies voted for and 40 against the budget document, one abstained from voting.

Consolidated budget revenues are 1 trillion 135 billion drams and expenditures 1 trillion 245 billion drams under Armenia’s 2014 budget. Tax and duty receipts are expected to stand at 1 trillion 93 billion 900 million drams in the year to come, which is 99.2 billion drams or 10% higher than this year.

Budget deficit is to reach 110 billion drams or 2.3% of the country’s GDP, current accounts deficit is expected at 8.6%. 

Under the budget passed, real GDP growth is 5.2%, average inflation 5.5%, 12-month inflation 4.5% and GDP deflator 4.3%. 

Republican Party of Armenia and Orinats Yerkir factions voted for the 2014 draft government budget. Most deputies of opposition Heritage, Armenian National Congress and ARF Dashnaktsutiun, as well as of Prosperous Armenia positioning itself as a political alternative voted against. –0—
