YEREVAN, June 20. /ARKA/. Armenian premier Tigran Sargsyan criticized Thursday the country’s Control Chamber over the political statements it made at presenting its 2012 report in the parliament.

YEREVAN, June 20. /ARKA/. Armenian premier Tigran Sargsyan criticized Thursday the country’s Control Chamber over the political statements it made at presenting its 2012 report in the parliament.
Earlier, the head of the Control Chamber Ishkhan Zakaryan said that 70% of the government budget is risky and is misused. This cannot be true, according to the premier.
“The Control Chamber is a strictly specialized structure and it has no right to make political statements. It should only provide an expert assessment”, the premier said. According to Sargsyan, the Control Chamber reporting procedure should be described in the law.
The premier instructed the ministers to respond all the accusations – either by preparing the required information to pass it on to the law-enforcement bodies, or by accepting the accusations and being held liable.
“I do agree the guilty should be held liable. Personally me, I am very interested in that the violations found by the Control Chamber are given to the law enforcement”, the head of the government said.
Armenia’s Control Chamber made a report on 2012 state budget expenditures on June 13. According to the report, outrageous violations and misappropriations of state funds have been recorded in urban planning and state procurement sectors. The situation remains unchanged and same violations reoccur throughout the years in many fields, head of the Control Chamber Ishkhan Zakaryan said in presenting the report. –0—
