Armenian president leaves for Moscow for Eurasian economic council meeting

YEREVAN, December 23. / ARKA /. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan was to leave today for the Russian capital city Moscow, his press service said.

On December 24th president Sargsyan will participate in a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council at the level of heads of state. The meeting will be held in the expanded format.

Armenian president Sargsyan said September 3 after talks with Russian president Putin in Moscow that the country would join the Russia-led Customs Union, although before that it was expected to sign an association agreement with the European Union. 

Russian-Armenian trade grew 22 percent to $1.2 billion last year. Most trade was  imports to Armenia . Russia is also the biggest foreign investor in Armenia, with a total of $3 billion in investments, according to official data. -0-
