Armenian regulator simplifies licensing for small hydro power plants

Armenia’s Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC ) has made today a set of changes to the procedure designed for small hydropower stations to provide their reports.
YEREVAN , October 16. / ARKA /. Armenia’s Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC ) has made today a set of changes to the procedure designed for small hydropower stations to provide their reports.
The changes have been made to comply with earlier made amendments to the Law on Energy .
Garegin Baghramyam, head of a PSRC’s unit overseeing tariff policy, told ARKA that instead of two licenses that were previously awarded for the construction of hydropower stations and electricity production now only one production license is awarded, which also includes a license for construction.
According to PSRC, there were 144 small hydropower plants in Armenia by June 1 with a total capacity of 237,4440 kWh. .-0-
