YEREVAN, September 17. / ARKA /. Armenian wineries are set to purchase this year around 160,000 metric tons of grape, up from 157,000 tons last year, according to the chairman of the Union of Armenian Winemakers Avag Harutyunyan.
He said the wineries will buy only the so-called ‘industrial’ grape used to make wine. In general, all processing plants across the country are expected to buy some 200,000 metric tons of grape," he said.
He said also out of 45 processing plants 10 have already bought 10,000 tons of grape. The other plants will start purchases from September 20. The minimum purchase price is set at 145 drams per kilogram. -0-
